When Luke aged out of foster care, he had no home and few options. He was sleeping in a tent in the woods of Burleson when he found Harvest House through a workforce program. After receiving food and clothing, he began volunteering—and later became a part-time employee.
With support and encouragement, Luke gained confidence and resilience. He rented his own apartment and eventually secured full-time employment with a national company.
“I feel like Harvest House is a safe place,” Luke said. His story reflects the power of community and the impact of donors, volunteers, staff, and local partners working together.

When CPS removed children from a dangerous situation, single dad RayShawn stepped in—not just for his own child, but also for his ex-wife’s two kids, keeping the siblings out of foster care.
Shortly after, he lost his job and faced eviction. With help from his caseworker, he came to Harvest House. We provided rent and utility assistance, giving him the time and stability to find daycare and look for work.
RayShawn left with tears of gratitude—and a new chance to keep his family together.
